dc.description.abstract A total of 17 species of Odonata belonging to 11 genera under 4 families and spread over 2 suborders have been collected from a very small area of 350 m2 in Khadki of Pune city during a study conducted from April 2012 to January 2014. Though the post- monsoon abundance of Odonata was high but Odonata diversity was greater in pre-monsoon period when the food and nutrition were abundant. In the present study it is found that Libellulidae is the richest family with maximum number of species (10 species) which is followed by family Coenagrionidae (4 species), Platycnemidae (2 species) and Ashnidae (1 species). The area therefore can be considered as a species rich diversity site in a purely urban backdrop. en_US
